About Umiam lake 

Umiam Lake is a man-made reservoir, it is located at a distance of 15 kilometers north of Shillong which is the capital of the north-eastern Indian state of Meghalaya. The lake was formed after a dam was constructed to generate hydroelectric power.  It is encircled by lush green East Khasi hills.The picturesque location and the serene beauty of the lake. The sunrises are the beauty of Lake shouldn't be missed.



The Umiam Lake has a park adjoining it which is a hotspot for picnics and frequented by locals for a getaway from their busy scheduled. There are different things for everyone.Children can see the beauty of nature and learn about different plants, children can spend  their time in park with their friends or family.Visitors can take a long boat ride on the river.There are a few islands in the lake for resting and viewing the environment. 


Visit the place and see the beauty of nature if you want to view heaven as it falls in this place.
