Guwahati, Assam Saraighat Bridge the first railway cum road bridge built over river Brahmaputra is a marvelous piece of structure standing still today. It was built in between 1958-1962 with a budget of 10.5 crores. This bridge is most important link of country as it connects entire northeast to rest of India. It was inaugurated by then Prime Minister Pt. Jawahar Lal Nehru. It's one end start from Amingaon (North Guwahati) and next end in Jalukbari. It's total length is 1492m.
